(no subject)
I had another appointment last Thursday. He said everything's looking good and we're going to try going off the meds again after January. Wish me lots of luck. He did say that if I relapse again, we're going to look for a few other things, but he really thinks this will be it. I feel better knowing that he's not going to throw his hands up and walk away if it's not though.
Because we were half way there, we went over to New Orleans again. Everything is just so delicious there! We wandered into a free organ concert in the cathedral, did a tour of the rum distillery, checked out a graveyard, and generally wandered around and explored. We also decided to drive down to the delta of the Mississippi. There's a park down there, but not a people park as the roads ended before the park began. It was still something neat to see, and a powerful place.
We got out of the French Quarter a lot more this time, and I found that I really like the entire city. It's a good place. I hope I find myself there again.
We're not really getting into it this year. The hubby is pretty much letting me set the pace, and we've stripped the holidays down to the barest bits. We sent gifts to the kids in our life, and told everyone else that we just aren't doing gift exchanges. I was on the fence about sending out Christmas cards, and we've already gotten a few, but in the end it was just too much.
We did throw up the decorations that we already had around. We had talked about getting a real tree this year as it may well be our last year in a real house, but it got nixed.
We'll be staying at home this year. I'm okay with that.
