The amazing thing about television at this time of year is that about half the commercials are for things that will save you from doing ANY work at all.

A self-moving can opener

A twist-off lid loosener.

A bathroom cleaner that spins for you, so you don't even have to scrub.

A mop that sweeps and scrubs, all in one.

All designed so that you have to do absolutely no work at all. Then you need the self-storage to keep all the gadgets that keep you from working.

ETA (What does that mean anyway?) A motorized spinning scrubber for dishes!

This is that Christmas niche: What to get that person who you don't really know at all. My dad used to work at K-mart, and he said on the days before Christmas people would just come in a throw *anything* in their cart, just to have something to give to Uncle Bob twice removed. Personally, I'd rather get nothing than a pre-fab gift set that says "Not only do I not know anything about you, I can't be bothered to spend even two seconds thinking about your present."
