Five years later...
I forgot that I have an LJ account. So here I am writing about current events in my life. The hardest right now is my father's death. He passed away this year, January 20th at 12:20am. Cause of death: respiratory failure. No, he didn't die of COVID-19 but complications with his abdominal surgery.
You see he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2006 and was operated on for that. He survived and managed to be cancer free for 13 years. Last year, he started having back pain and his mobility was severely limited that he ended up becoming bedridden. After much pressure from me, my mom and his half-brother, he had himself admitted to the hospital, found out that his cancer was spreading to his spine, had undergone radiotherapy and then had stopped eating as his intestines had become fused. He was operated on and after about 2-3 days he passed away.
I had friends who lost their parent/s and dreaded the idea of that happening to me. Well now it's here and it's horrible. My father may be flawed but he tried his best to be a good father.
Now it's just me and my mom.
