Ever since reading FMA, I became a fan of both the manga and the anime. I have yet to see the first anime but has followed the second anime closely.
Episode 53 and 54 is based on chapters 94 and 95 of the manga. Seeing it animated was just amazing and terrifying because wow, Mustang looked like he wanted to literally toast Envy. And he did. Almost crushed him like a bug too if Ed and Scar didn’t show up.
And the look of hate in his face was just scary. Seeing Mustang that angry was chilling. Then again his best friend was killed by Envy and he almost got Hawkeye. Who wouldn’t be livid?
One would feel sorry for Envy because despite the fact that he’s a sick bastard, he was envious of humans as Ed figured out.
Plus the quote: “When we’re alone you call me ‘Riza’.” was said. I mean yay! Now hopefully, they animate chapter 100 especially the last two pages.
And the Royai pairing was heavily implied on these two episodes. The fact that Hawkeye would kill herself once she shoots Mustang was just epic especially when he let out a burst of flame and said he would not lose her too. What was also interesting was the back story on how Hawkeye’s back was burned.
On a lighter note, Maid-sama! has become a favorite of mine and I especially like Usui because he really reminds me of Niou (ok fine, I’m biased) but the anime was really hilarious. Hearing Hosoya-san’s voice in a comedic manner made me feel relieved that I would not associate him with Shiraishi any more.
Also, Shizuko really looks like Yagyuu that it creeps me out. I’ll never get over it. At least not right now. Maybe I should write a fic with these two as the pair.
