Hee! Fun Mansfield Park watching!

So, about two thirds of my Austen/Bronte class went over to our professor's house to watch the movie version of Mansfield Park - which, by the way, is a delightfully interesting movie, bearing no relation, however, to the actual book. It was so much fun, though! Fifteen girls and our professor all gathered in her basement with pizza and cookies

see, I liked that movie a lot too--even if they added slavery and more action and made Fanny fiestier.

Yeah...they totally changed Fanny's character, but what my class all thought was really weird about it is that they conflated her with the narrator, who's very much a seperate entity in the book, and also with Austen herself- it ends up changing a lot of how you look at things, I think.
