I like being home.
Not that I don't like being at school, but I like it when my mom makes me a big, special, fancy dinner, and we have conversations where we just sit around the table and talk and goof off and my parents get increasingly tipsy over the bottle of wine and tell funny stories and we argue about politics and then I get phone calls from my grandmother to chide me for failing to email her a copy of that paper I wrote on Halim Barakat's book last semester so that she can show it to him. It's a BAD paper! I don't want the author of the book reading it! Pardon me for conveniently "forgetting" to email her. :-)
And then somehow it all ended up with me and mom and dad and Baby Brother John all gathered in the family room. Watching Kinsey.
Atually, that was much less awkward than I would have expected.
I really, really love my family.
Also, Renaissance Fair tomorrow!!!
Ooh, and my exciting nature story for the day: There's this spider who lives outside my window...she has a giant web right in the very center, and I've been watching her for the past couple weeks and haven't tried to get rid of her because I figured I'd end up getting treated to some really cool shows. And I did. This afternoon before we left, a bee got caught in her web. And they had this awesome fight. It was worthy of action movies, but eventually she managed to stab it and poison it, and then she sort of retreated until it went all still and then she just wrapped it up and started eating. It was amazing.
Yes, I'm weird. And managed to gross out
of_polyhymnia by narrating events to her as they were occurring.
