(no subject)
Hee...still tired, but have had a very good day.
What, of course, makes it even better is that we (my immediate family) are leaving for Puerto Rico tomorrow to visit our cousins...and I can't wait. For two reasons, one, because my cousins (age 6 and 3) are the two cutest things in the history of all small children EVER, and w two, Puerto Rico!!!
Eeee...I haven't been since I was 8, and, well, I don't remember all that much, but...Caribbean. Beaches. Palm trees. My cousin's boat. *bounces gleefully*
The things that made this day good were myriad. I left work early, since we finished the project, packed it up, and sent it to the FAA by two. Nothing better for me to do but go home, really. So I did, and then mom got home and we went to the library and they had everything. All the new books in all the series I've been wanting to read- the new Sword of Truth book, New Spring the Wheel of Time prequel, the next Georgia Nicholson book, the end of the Isabel Allende "Eagle and Jaguar" trilogy...I just kept randomly looking at shelves and going "OH! It's that book I've been wanting to read for ages!" I read the Georgia Nicholson one straight off- they're YA, and quite short, so it only took me about an hour, most of which I spent giggling hysterically. Those books are SO funny. The rest are all packed in my carry-on bag (which, apparently, I haven't used since last summer, so I opened it to find a handful of loose change- in Euros. Which I was NOT expecting.
And then of_polyhymnia, beautiful_rain_, duchessofpower, Katherine from high school, and I went out for dinner, and then to see The Island. I wasn't excpecting it to be very good, actually, since I figured it was just a silly sci-fi action movie, but it was quite intriguing. And also Ewan McGregor is hot, the fact that there were two of him made it even better, Sean Bean and Djimon Hounsou ceratinly didn't hurt matters, and Scarlett Johansson was lovely.
Aside from the pretty people, the plot was actually pretty good, and the music was astounding, and the camera work in the car chases actually made me squee at one point. Yes, I watch movies for the cinematography sometimes; so sue me. :-) But yeah, I had a really fun evening, so, really? I'm in an excellent mood.
