My (belated) three things about Torchwood:
1. Squee! Gwen got married! I love TV wedding episodes...I wrote a paper on them one time, actually...and this was no exception. If you're filming a wedding, you can't take yourself too seriously, so they're witty and clever and a bit self-mocking and occasionally involve Gwen's insane confessions of alien-hunting and the groom attacking the bad guy with a chain saw.
1a. I love how much this ep reminded me of the bit in the Captain's Blog from the first episode of the series, when Jack comments that Gwen just might be a security risk.
1b. Did anyone else think Gwen was a bit damsel-y this time around? I mean, she had the brilliant hidden gun attack moment, but in the climactic bit, it was all down to whether Rhys or Jack would get to rescue her.
2. I don't mind Jack/Gwen. Well, actually I do, especially now that she's married, but I can put up with it as long as Jack isn't being a jackass to Ianto while he's pining after Gwen. Which he was doing this episode. And that pisses me off. Ianto does not deserve the second-best treatment, and Jack should know better.
3. I adored the costuming. I attempt to copy Gwen's fashion sense disturbingly frequently, and I loved her make-up in the episode. I mean, the "look i'm pregnant" wedding dress was gorgeous, and her hair was lovely, but what really got me was the make-up. The pastels. The pale pink lipstick that somehow made her look ethereally lovely instead of vampiric and washed-out. I really, really want to imitate it.
