"No offense, Ewan; it wasn't your fault."

(Subject line not related to the content of the post, except through very indirect routes.) Actually, given the current writing on Torchwood, it may pretty directly thematically relate....

My three things about Torchwood for tonight, along with the note that it was actually much less cracktastic than I was expecting, given what I had assumed the premise to be:

1. Weevil King Yay! Um...yeah. So, I had been under the (mistaken) impression that Owen was actually going to turn into a Weevil, so...that not happening was nice. And, as I said, less cracktastic than I expected. Just goes to show you that you shouldn't ever listen to IMDB message boards. But we knew that already. And, um, now, like Jack, Owen has killed a villain by not dying at it. Cool.

1a. "I just need to line up my esophagus...." *cracks up*

2. Martha! Ianto! Where did you go? You were pwning last ep, and now you have gone away, except to get your face sucked off by a giant evil mitten.

3. I loved how hard they were trying to make Jack and Owen's male bonding scene be not gay, and failing, because...it's Jack. Come on.

(4.) Interesting mythology...as of_polyhymnia commented, it was oddly like Buffy. It was sort of like the fairy episode, but in this one, they didn't bother to give an alien/scientific explanation for what was going on. They just sort of let it go with the tarot cards and the spirit of Death and stuff.
