The Spaceship of Death

I really should be writing one of my papers, but I've been working all afternoon, and I think I deserve a break.

Plus, I wanted to make a quick post about how awesome the Vagina Monologues were last night- they put together a surprisingly good cast, and the show was both well-delivered, and really well received. I mean, I guess you're not going to go to a show called the Vaginia Monologues if you're not at least slightly open to feminism, but it was still fun to see how involved the audience was. The moaning monologue was absolutely brilliant, and definitly the highlight, but all of the actors just kept it so funny and quippy and moving. "My Short Skirt" is still my favorite:

It is not an invitation
a provocation
an indication
that I want it
or give it
or that I hook.

My short skirt
is not begging for it
it does not want you
to rip it off me
or pull it down.

My short skirt
is not a legal reason
for raping me
although it has been before
it will not hold up
in the new court.

My short skirt, believe it or not
has nothing to do with you.

Also, Grey's...pretty much awesome, except that since I spent the last two episodes calling Meredith's plotline "The Spaceship of Death," everyone started to get annoyed with me.

papers, theater, grey's
