Fangirl catharsis

Okay, so, recently? I have been fangirling too many things. I can always tell when this happens because my brain seems to be full of lemonade (not the nice still cloudy lemonade, the frothy cheap lemonade that tastes ever so faintly of soap) and fizzes inconveniently when I'm supposed to be working. I like that metaphor. Fizzing is definitely a good description of what I have been doing recently.

(Ahh, futuristic dystopian sci-fi. You have of course seen Logan's Run and Soylent Green?)

I have never seen either Logan's Run or Soylent Green; nor have I read any Asimov or Heinlein, or indeed really any classic sci-fi at all. I am secretly a Bad Sci-Fi Fan; I just do a good impression of knowing things ^_^

I'm almost certain that you would love Logan's Run. B7 reminds me of nothing more forcefully, right down to the costumes and 70s-future-dystopia. One day, in the mythical future-time where I Know How It All Ends, I shall show it to you.

Your icon reminds me - this is the book I mentioned a while back with detective!Wilde. It seems that there's a new one due out next month - I think I shall try to read the first one before then, if I can pick up a cheap copy somewhere.

Oh what absolute crack! I have a feeling I'll respond to it as sacrilege, but it does look like an awful lot of fun...

Although in 1889 Wilde wasn't yet a celebrated playwright

It's less than a fiver on Amazon. And I'm a Wilde completist. That practically makes it my moral duty to buy it...
