A very important question that could direct my life...let's ask the LJers!

So, in case you don't know, I've been contemplating taking a certificate course here at NYU. By taking only five courses, I could get my certificate in book publishing. It's through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies and it's free. However, since I don't want to overload like crazy, one of these courses would have to be taken during the summer. This would restrict any job I might have.

On the other hand, I could also get my Masters in the Science of Publishing through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies AFTER I graduate. It will cost money but the courses are at night so there's no big worries about scheduling around a job or something.

I ask you, LJers, what should I do? I have to decide soon since the certificate application is due in eight days and I have yet to write up the essay for it. Is it better to have a certificate right out of college or to be working on a Masters degree? I'm hesitant because it seems like in order to get any kind of a job nowadays you HAVE to have your Masters. What do you think?

questions, skool
