12th Annual SAG Awards

Okay, the awards. I forgot to tape the show, but I heard you could see me a few times on the red carpet. That's never good.

Yesterday morning I went to a Chinese New Year parade in Pasadena with my friend. It was actually kinda fun. I changed into my formal wear in the parking lot and Hiep dropped me off at the Shrine auditorium. I waited around for a bit before my first assignment began. Talent Spotting. Basically, my coworker and I plus 3 other girls from a PR firm stood at the entrance and would radio in when the celebs arrived. "Patrick Dempsey has arrived." "Martin Sheen has arrived." We had cheat sheets but I knew the majority of them - yay my overloaded celeb brain. This is apparently when you could see me on tv. Mostly b/c they would walk into the gates and stop to chit chat. I guess there was a camera guy filming the whole time. Everyone was either much bigger or much smaller than you would think. Geena Davis is hella tall. I could break Eva Longoria in half easily. Ryan Seacrest is a tiny little man. Coolest celeb: Michelle Rodriguez who ran up to us asking if we knew where a bathroom was. Said she heard there was a porta potty outside and she had to pee super bad. Very cute and very funny. Also beautiful: Charlize Theron and Michelle Williams who I never thought was cute on Dawson's Creek, but she just glowed. This won't come across as funny as it was then, but when we were doing the annoucements, it would be all business like and matter of fact "Ted Danson has arrived" etc. But when someone we liked would show up our tone totally changed to "Jake Gyllenhaal has arrived" all slow and vaguely sexy-like.

Then, after we were done with that, my job was to stand on the side of the room. If any of the winners (like for best actress) had to reseat themselves for an upcoming award (like best drama show) before they went to press, I had to pull them for press if their show didn't win. Like Felicity Huffman won best actress. But Desperate Housewives was then up for Best Show. So, she had to go sit down again. If her show had lost, I would have had to go get her and take her to the press area. Luckily, her show won and I didn't have to do anything. My coworker on the other side of the room did have to do that with Sandra Oh, though. So, I just stood there for the rest of the night. The seated shows right next to me were the Crash people, Six Feet Under peeps, and Law & Order peeps. Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni are super hot. Also of note: Adawale ........ (Mr. Eko on Lost, Adabisi on Oz) asked my coworker for her number. Awww yeah. And I would like to steal Jason Bateman.

Went to the after party, but didn't stay too long. Got my gift bag full of swag! My friend picked me up and we went to watch StuntBoy play hockey.

In short, my lower back and feet have never hurt that badly. Ever. Even in flats. But I had fun, and would probably do it again. (But I'm going to get a longer dress and wear tennis shoes.)

Note to Tigress: I didn't get your message until later. Sorry!
