Know how everyone will always complain about the roommate from hell? Well, me and my roommate get along pretty well. We both probably think the other is a little weird, but we can cope with each other, we can tolerate each other. It's my suite mates that I have a problem with. When they first moved in, my roommate said that the bathroom started smelling funny. I didn't really notice and just kinda shrugged it off. It wasn't a big deal. What started me off was when the police came by our dorm because someone smelled pot in the hallway. Can you guess who's room it was coming from?
Well, my suite mates had, conveniently, just left, and for some reason, even though it was freezing outside, had decided to leave their window wide open... a bit odd...
Anyhow, when I got back from Winter break, they weren't there at first. When they got here, I noticed. The bathroom started to smell again. And, the funny thing is, it was fine up until the day they moved back in. I can deal with smell. After all, it's college, things smell weird. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop with just an unpleasant oder. I think that my Suite mates must still have their mom's pick up after them, or have some sort of air (heir?) of entitlement about them, because they just seem to be very haphazard about cleaning things, and they like to let the bathroom flood. More then once, I've stepped into the bathroom, and into a puddle of water. It isn't pleasant when you aren't expecting it. It's not pleasant when you are expecting it either, just more so when you aren't. Anyway, what seems to be the case, is that, when one of the suite mates showers, the shower head is pointing out at the curtain, and therefore, onto the floor in most cases. At least that's what I assume happens, because that's an awful lot of water if he just forgot to towel off a bit. Now I get that when you are taking a shower, things tend to get wet, even when they shouldn't. That's showering, that's college, that's life. But when the floor is SO wet that it splashes, and there is no drain in the floor, so the only way that water is leaving is through evaporation or mad toweling... it needs to be toweled up. NEEDS to be. And these kids are Sophomores, they should at least know SOME respect, or at least some common dorm/suite courtesy.
If you are wondering what inspired this post, when I came home from my girlfriends, where I spent the weekend, I had to go to the bathroom. I open the door and am hit with an overwhelmingly raunchy smell. I grab my can of OUST, but even this doesn't lessen the effect (not that I was expecting much, OUST was probably one of the worst buys of my college career... not because it's not potentially helpful, but because 75% of the time, it doesn't work... maybe it's just the bathroom. Anyway,). My first thought is that my suite mate has gotten ridiculously drunk off of Jello Shots and PUKED all over the bathroom again, but alas, I remember what the smell is: PISS. It smelled as if someone had just let loose all over the bathroom walls, and at first I thought all over the floor too. Apparently, the toilet had flooded, and was, rather poorly, I might add, cleaned up by my suite mates. Then then proceeded to just heap the towels that they used in a pile by their door, because that doesn't cause mold.

I don't think I want to shower there anymore.

I need a new place to live, or at least new suite mates.

I mean, Good Grief!
