It's not a shock to me, especially considering the last few months but I'm glad for her that she took this step. I wish her the best and if part of her reasons for leaving Grey's was to focus fully on her activism I have to respect that. However, given how important Callie was to Sara and the LGBTQ community, I hope that she realizes how senseless it was to end her story this way and comes back someday to finish properly.

It would be nice if she came back to wrap up Callie's story, but the writers have consistently done her character such a disservice over seasons 11/12, I wouldn't blame her if she didn't. Lol. I don't see the appeal from her perspective.

I don't know...Sara stayed after season 7, which painted Callie in a much worse light and she didn't seem to mind then.

That's fulfilling contractual obligations. She's left now and I don't see why she would want to come back, as much as I'd love it.

Didn't she have contract negociations a few years ago? I might be wrong but I thought she had the option not to re-sign at one point at the same time as the originals. Anyway, it's up to her but I would hope that her great relationship with Shonda means that she would accept to come back at least in the series finale.
