For me, there is no Grey's without Calzona & there's definitely no Grey's without Callie Torres. No matter what, I'm never going to be ok with seeing either of them with somebody else & for that, I'm out!!

+1.

The cast makeup is quite interesting now. There used to be somewhat of a balance between the harder/more serious characters and the lighter ones, and there have been so many departures that it seems kind of imbalanced now.

Before you had George, Lexie, Mark, Callie - kookier characters to mix in and add some humour and levity. Now the only person that who fills that void, in my mind, is Arizona.

/And who would they pair Arizona with now? The new head of ortho? (I don't think even Shonda would recycle that pairing). She will forever be the lonely lesbian who dates offscreen (you wouldn't even know she was). They certainly can't bring in any more doctors the cast is too large as it is. If they do replace Ortho, I'm sure it'll be some hunky guy. So what's left for Arizona? A nurse?

They lost Cristina, Derek & now Callie all in a row. For me, there are no couples, no future SL's to even keep me the least bit interested. Even if Arizona is still around. My heart is just too weak to see her happy with someone other than Callie Torres. Going into the show a Calzona fan, my mind just won't except it. I can't even try. I legit started watching FOR Calzona.

I honestly would've rather seen Calzona reunite this season & had them written them out happily as a couple leaving for new adventures as a family.

Even so, SaRa deserved a better exit than what Callie Torres got. It's clear to me that Shonda had knowledge of SaRa's decision long before this tweet. Penny was literally just used as SaRa's exit strategy the entire season & we looked like fools. lol

Shonda's been an expert at making us fools. I, too, start watching when Calzona came about.

At least we still have fanfic. *sigh*

Speaking of fanfic, what do I have to do to get you to continue Miami General? If anyone story could take away the sting of this bullshit crap of a season and mistreatment of Calzona, it's good ol' Miami General. :) (I'm desperate)

I've been angry and disgusted with the show for so long that it totally killed my writing mojo. Maybe now with the true end of Calzona, I might get back to it and write my own happy ending. I just need to grieve a little (and rant, too) for what Shonda did to a beloved couple and character.

Totally understandable! We all need to grieve and process - I keep fluctuating between sad, mad, and disbelief. I'm "smad", but a teeny tiny part of me is a little relieved that I don't have to suffer through this bullshit and inconsistent writing and story telling anymore, and I can instead remember the good times and hopefully drown myself in quality fics. (like MG ;) ;) )

I appreciate that you are leaving yourself open to maybe find it in you to continue the story, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who hopes that eventually you will. :)

In the mean time, bitch away! Lord knows we deserve to be angry about all of this. 3 seasons and 3 episodes (I start counting from 9x22) of straight up Calzona bullshit. Tptb wasted so much time. Thanks for nothing, Shonda!

I agree. Calzona is the reason i started watching. Then i watched from the beginning. And i agree they could have had calzona reunite at the midseason finale then have them amd sofia all go off together. That i think would have made everyone happy. The lesbian couple finally got to be happy together. It wouldnt surprise me if thats the reason jcap signed a 3 more season deal ( ... )

I don't know if anything happened BTS. One of Jessica's most recent tweets is about how much they laughed and cried while filming that scene.

Im not talkimg BTS with jessica i know she and jessica got on. But maybe she made it vocal she didnt like the direction of her character amd thats when she decided. But sara is too graceful to say anything because shes a good person.

Im sure it will come out eventually what made her decide to leave, especially since she has always said she will stay til the end

Ooh... yeah, that could be it. Shonda does have a way of making it seem like it was the actor's choice to leave when they were in fact let go. Could be.

And, honestly, this send off was SO bad (I saw someone on Tumblr compare it to Kim Raver's exit and that seems pretty apt) that it did make me wonder if Sara pissed someone off along the way.

I know that in the grand scheme of things, this is Callie Torres' happy ending. She is a true romantic through and through. She is no Cristina; love is her purpose. But THIS relationship? And unlike most, I'm not a Penny hater. She's perfectly fine, IMO. But the writers spent absolutely zero time or effort building this supposed romance or even committing to it (halfway through the season I, along with many other viewers, didn't even know if Penny/Callie were still a thing). So aside from Arizona - though I do believe she is Callie's great love - this is not the love that Callie Torres deserves. This can't be the relationship she uproots her entire life for. And yet...

Exactly especially if its actually been a network decision. If its come down to money for all we know she could be on a higher pay than the rest of the originals and it made sense to let her go for business and financial reasons. And im pretty sure that decision was probably made well into the season hence the calzona heavy ones near the end. They would have started negotiations with them all probably as the season started and hers stalled hence being let go.

There are other characters that have outstayed their welcome that deserve to go more than sara but hey ho. Amd they better not come out with the rubbish at least the lesbian is still on the show. But its pointless if all we get is hearing about whats hapoening off screen and not see it

I agree. With everything you said about the penny relationship. We barely saw them together apart from quick make out scenes that had no chemistry and yeah we are supossed to think penny was the love callie deserved. Penny who the writers couldnt be bothered to make an effort with in the relationship. A relationship they couldnt be bothered to build up and commit to unlike with arizona ( ... )

Well they had the bad luck of course that Jcap decided to stay. If both of them would have chosen to leave at the same time, it was easy to reunite Calzona and send them off to Africa or so.
Anyway, they could have handled it differently and I would have preferred to have Dr. Torres killed off (after she declared her love to AZ of course) but I guess they don't do that when a child is involved or I guess that Shonda would like to bring back everyone when they really end GA.
I just wish that this end is coming soon because you can feel that the show has had it.
