Some mixed reactions.some people still think something positive will come of this for calzona and some think that's it.I was thinking I know the show is about doctors but is also about the relationships.and I think they need a power couple front and centre to lead the show now there no merder.I don't think Ben/ bailey,jolex or japril are big enough couples to do that.I'm not saying they don't have fans but I'm not sure the fan bases are big enough to keep keep it going with their couples.I also don't think callie and her new partner and Arizona and her new partner will be big enough to be the main couple on the show.depending on how the chemistry is and if they are better suited with the new partner I think it would take a while for fans to really get behind the new pairings.or that could just be me.I really deep down believe calzona are better together and the show needs them together to be the main couple.but we probably won't get that.i really want the mid season cliffhanger to involve them in regards to letting us know there's still something there and giving us hope.I really don't want to wait til season 13 or 14 before we get something
You've hit the nail on the head. They need a lead, core couple that the audience already has a history with and an investment in. That's Callie/Arizona.
The whole chemistry testing nonsense is just that - nonsense. Look up mpdays on Tumblr. She's posted two great analyses of Shonda's statements. The fact is, Shonda loves them together. She'll never really hire anyone that she thinks has any real potential to make viewers root for Callie/Arizona with others.
The whole thing is code for, "Last year I didn't know if Jessica was gonna resign. Now that I have her, I've gotta get Sara resigned. Once I know I can do that, it's all systems go on a proper Calzona reunion.'
What about Lauren.a lot of people thought she should be brought back and put with Arizona again because they thought the chemistry was there.you and me know she was used to get their story moving for the next season.but I've seen people still out there begging for Lauren to.come back
But I see your point.shonda knew jcaps contract was up last season and jcap obviously gave no indication until she signed after the season on whether she was coming back or not so I can see why shonda didn't let them reunite last season.why reunite them if jcap doesn't sign and she needs to come up with how she's writing Arizona out for.season 12. And I can kind of see her reasoning for Sara this season.if sara has giving no indication yet then again I can see why she's holding off.Sara signed her extension early the last time it was up for renewal .I'm sure they were still filming that season when she resigned.I hope your right.and as soon as she gets word on Sara staying then calzona will be reunited.and that anyone hired for calzona doesn't have a shot to have good chemistry ,I just hope she's not pulling our chain when she says she loves them together and wants them together.and I don't want us having to wait til next season for them reuniting.if it's happening this season I hope she fights like hell to get Sara to sign.I also read that person's tumblr posts.and she makes seanse.

Yup 1 down and 1 to go.they got sara to sign a new contract early I think they were only half way through her renewal season when they got her to sign a new one.so hopefully we don't wait til june,July time before we know.I think kcal had only Just penned her new deal when it was reported.so.fingers cross this is the reasoning behind it
Re: Lauren... that almost helps prove that Shonda isn't going to abandon a couple she loves just because they have chemistry with someone else. If ever she were going to do that, it's with Lauren. She could have found a way to keep Hillary Burton - or bring her back and start Lauren/Arizona over - but she didn't.

The chemistry thing is a red herring. It's about contracts, imo. She doesn't want to have to kill either of these women off, and she doesn't want to give them a final divorce. So she'll have them dance around each other until she's sure she knows what Sara's doing.
They may have some Crowen-like on call room shenanigans (that may not be the best way to characterize it, but I just love that word) while Shonda waits.
If you see them remarry, Shonda knows Sara's sticking around, imo.
Yeah I agree.if she really wanted Lauren for Arizona she would have brought her back,but she served her purpose.even the leah thing.that's why we never actually seen them together because it was all about calzona.I would love crowen shenanigans in the on call rooms.yeah if shonda officially has then get back together and not just have it be like crowen on call room shenanigans after they divorced,without the commitment then i agree.that tells us sara is sticking around
