Callie's realization that real love is about a lot more?whitewedding14February 25 2015, 19:14:44 UTC
I like your statement and I value some of your points more than your two cents, rather is closer to a million bucks... The Callie's realization phrase really make me think more than anything else, because up to this point the writers haven't shown us why Callie called the break-up, and I think that there is a good reason behind it. So far, we have been seeing a Callie unhappy and lost, and in the next sneak peek envious, to find out that Arizona has been able to move somewhat on, and is getting her mojo back. It has been very significantly that Callie is avoiding ONS, no matter how horny she seems to be. Callie doesn't know it yet, but her real hectic search, as I see it, could be trying to find a real connection with a person, nothing sexual per se, actually she must be missing the connection she and Arizona once shared. Callie will try to move on, perhaps she even forces herself into another relationship, but she will miss the strong and unique connection that Calzona had, and eventually will make her want to find her way back to
( ... )
The problem with this is Shonda never said she was showing a Calzona journey. They had a 50/50 chance of being together and Shonda chose not together so now instead of a Calzona journey she is showing individual journeys. There isn't really a need for them to interact (other than Sofia but kids have always been unimportant on the show) plus she's giving fans time to mourn. I wouldn't count on any scenes together at all for nearly the rest of the season not when that's not her intention. She's showing them apart and living their life's separately which I am quite enjoying TBH
She actually did say that Calzona and MerDer's journeys this season paralleled each other...
Since Calzona began the season 'trying' but then splitting and MerDer starting the season together but then continuing to 'try to make it work', does that mean Calzona ends the season coming back together and MerDer separating?
People assume MerDer are untouchable, but what we're seeing from Mer and my thought that the police cpt in 18 is for her, I don't think that's a safe thing to say.
I actually discussed this with Jenn the other day, I still think Calzona are done for good, 6 ep's and counting and no interaction, doesn't look like any interaction coming up and Callie possibly may start her ONS/s soon. BUT I did say to Jenn I got a feeling that Mer/Der could split. Everyone does think they are untouchable, not that I want them to split but the last episode for me and this is just me, I got two really strong distinct feelings and felt there were two huge anvils - one for C/A which I got was basically Arizona is moving on, they're done. But I also the distinct feeling Merder is heading in the same direction, will be interesting if that happens
I'm ready for Herman's story to wrap up. I love Geena Davis, I think it's great that she is now part of the fabric of the show. I like that Arizona got this new professional opportunity and has had her own story, and the bond that Arizona and Herman have formed has been fun to watch (and I'm sure we haven't even seen the best of it, yet
( ... )
I miss seeing them interact, too. But I think that is by design. It seems so deliberate. TPTB have worked so hard at deconstructing their relationship/their connection and they are afraid to put them in any scene together because they can't contain the spark that remains. The only way to erase it from the viewers collective mind is to continue to deny it and don't let them near each other. Possibly an attempt to create a blank slate?
And I'm most excited for the story of Arizona and Callie's friendship to kick off. love_trust_liveFebruary 25 2015, 09:36:51 UTC
YES YES YES....that's one thing I'm asking right now. Right now romantic scene b/w them will be not be at all healthy or theraputc. What they need to realize that they are each other's person in real sense & has a good understanding of each other (they knows exactly what makes the other happy & what hurts), irrespective of their romantic involvement. So yeah they need to bring the Calzona friendship storyline quickly.
I do think GD character does take away from some Callie/Arizona interaction. But it also seems like guest stars who go past 1 episode are usually brought on to help further a regular characters SL. I think this is to teach Atizona something or to make her understand something about herself. As for Callie and Arizona getting back together it's hard to figure out since we haven't seen them together. And Sofia is basically nonexsistant who knows. On any other other show I would say having a child and recently purchasing a house would mean something important. But in Shondaland who knows.
I know, right? For a woman who desperately wants another child, she doesn't seem to spend much time with the one she has.
Last episode, Callie said something like "...when I'm not watching Sofia.." Drives me crazy! You don't "watch" your own child! That's what babysitters do. Even if we don't see Sofia on the show, I'd like to believe that Callie loves being a Mom.
And who WAS with Sofia while Callie was out dancing and Arizona was couch surfing with Hermanlove_trust_liveFebruary 25 2015, 09:44:02 UTC
Good point....I think Sofia now learnt to take care of herself...their mothers are totally messed up & Shonda Aunty don't wanna bring her on the show...she has to get it together by her own u know ;)

Man, seeing this would be my dream come true. That would be a good ending for this journey. I don`t believe this is going to happen, though...
