Somebody in another thread mentioned the possibility of Arizona having to leave because of a death in the family. What is that is the case and Callie goes along for the funeral but returns a little earlier?
That was my speculation - it would give an open ended scenario for JCap's return. It could also be handled without complicating schedules for guest stars or other cast involved in a story line which is dependent upon Arizona's involvement. It is a clean approach with some potential for C/A drama as well as whatever might affect AZ upon her return.
some simplicity.....which is why is it not too likely ;-)
Unless for some reason Callie is not welcomed by AZ's relatives, or a drift happens between her and Arizona due to something that a relative said. Would love that part since we would have to find out more about AZ's past.
I have mad respect for all of the craftspeople who create a total viewing experience and the wardrobe department chose a lot of gray and black for 7.07...
Don't we often discover on viewing the simplicity of the storytelling on Grey's compared to say my, ahem, unchecked, ahem, speculations? I think you might be pointed in the likeliest direction here. :)
Is there anything to be gleaned from the overall theme of 7.07? The main medical is Amber Benson's estranged father dying (stay with me here as I promise to check my personal preference for the former Willow's world to collide with Arizona's ;). Maybe someone else loses a family member...
That would be an ideal storyline imo, but whose patient is Amber Benson's character (usually patient and doctor 's stories are kinda the same )? If she is Callie's then it will most definitely be about AZ
The patient, Roy, is Teddy and Cristina's patient and his case will be important as it results in the M&M later. Sometimes Grey's has an overall theme where the medicals don't one to one match the assigned doctors. Not always, but I do like the episodes where a theme is woven throughout with a less heavy hand than this patient is an anvil for his or her attending. :)
Oh i didn't know Benson would play that character, in that case would make more sense for Arizona is Teddy's best friend therefor she is connected to the patient.
Good gosh i rarely read sides that have nothing to do with C/A so i wouldn't know what her part would have been -plus i ain't a fan of her acting skills. Yeah i figure that she'll break the news to Teddy first and then Teddy might try to offer some advice inspired by Benson's relationship with her father, Arizona might follow it , etc ,etc.. It does make sense if you connect the dots.
Plus Christina's dad is dead and we know nothing about Teddy's family so AZ is the missing link :)
I don't know about any likely direction, but I do sometimes have to stop myself from tying too much into C/A simply because that is where I am invested. It is easy for speculations to run wild because there are so many wonderful/fearful/exciting/groan-worthy possibilities for them that we would like to see. I need the proverbial hit in the head to stay reminded other characters will get a lot of the time and focus instead of the C/A intensity of story line I would like!
Everyone here has some SUPER possibilities and thanks to all who map this out so carefully for feeble predictors like me. :-)
Death in family takes Arizona home and Callie needs to go?????....although I grieve to think we wouldn't see that interaction.
Making virtually every single side about C/A helps the time pass between episodes. ;)
I am stubborn and yet you are beginning to persuade me. I could see from a storytelling perspective where the death of Arizona's father could make her authority issues loom larger through the sheer mystery of the man. Sarah in the marina side seems to be fighting against the emotion of the moment and holding on to the pretense that everything is a-okay. That fits with our Dr. Robbins.
Side note: I'm so overwhelmed by imagining Arizona's ex is played by Amber Benson that I called her Willow. Bwahaha. Feebler and feebler with each passing day. ;)
