Ooo, I love this. I can absolutely see Jenny reacting that way - you put it well when you described her defense mechanism as "attack". But of course, Gibbs is always one step ahead, since he knows her so well. Nicely done. :)

That's great to hear! I always thought Jenny used anger as a defense to hide other emotions she perceives as weaknesses, and knowing her as well as he does, Gibbs knows exactly how to handle that.

Ooo, that's a good way to put it, as a defense to hide other emotions. I think in her own way she's just as emotionally repressed as Gibbs.

Well, there was at least an initial crash and burn, even if they may have recovered. :)

(Shipper denial is a powerful force, I would never disagree with that, LOL.)

How much of a crash and burn could it have been, considering how happy Gibbs and Jenny were to see each other in Kill Ari? Jenny just left, and while that may not be the best way to end a relationship, it's far from the worst. It's not like they couldn't stand each other's company anymore.

I actually like to think their similar issues in dealing with emotions are a reason their relationship could work. They understand each other, and know what (not) to expect from the other.

As you can see, there is no force that can sway my shipper heart! XD

Granted, and perhaps that is not the best way to describe it. But it was short-lived as it was, and simply walking out speaks to some serious communication issues that they must have had. They strike me as both difficult people to live with, so if it was going to work (which I think it could, though I've probably given it less thought than you have, LOL), then they would both have to make some major adjustments. For Gibbs, at least, that's true for him and anyone - hence the three divorces and the seven-iron to the head. :)

I have no intention of swaying you - as if I ever could. :) I actually quite like Gibbs/Jenny - they are my second-favorite ship. :) (What do you call that? STP instead of OTP? LOL).

You're absolutely right, they certainly have communication issues, and I'm sure they weren't helped by the fact that they were both keeping major secrets back in the day. And they definitely would have to make adjustments to have any kind of relationship, but probably fewer than they would have to make to be with anyone else, anyone 'normal'. I think after the end of the frog business they really would have had a chance. :)

What's your favorite ship, then? And I think your second favorite pairing would still be an OTP, it'd just stand for "*other* true pairing." ;)

Oh, the secrets would have been a major problem, but given that they both had them, ultimately forgivable.

My favorite ship is Gibbs/Hollis (see icon, LOL). I know, strange that I could ship both, but there you go. :)

I like "other true pairing"! Then there can be many OTPs. :)

I'm sorry to interrupt a thread that is totally not mine, but I have to say THANK YOU for being a Gibbs/Hollis fan!! I really loved them together, was sad to see them break up, and am always disappointed that there is so little fic for them. So it's nice to see someone else out there who supports them. :) Not that there's anything wrong with Jenny. She's a very lovely woman. :D

Also, "Other True Pairing" is awesome!

Yay! That makes, like, five of us. :) I know what you mean about the fic - I've been meaning to repost some of mine here on LJ. Maybe that will bring a couple more of us out of the woodwork. :)

And now we return this journal back to it's regular Jibbs setting. :D
