We Got Married

I've become completely addicted to this South Korean reality show called 'We Got Married.' The concept is very interesting: the show casts eight Korean celebrities and put them together as 'married' couples so they can experience what it's like to live the life of a married. The directors match up the couples so the celebrities don't have any say ( Read more... )

Yes, omg, Hyunjoong & Hwangbo and Crown J & In Young crack me up so much that I often have to watch their parts again because I'm in hysterics so badly that I can't focus. I love how Crown J gets so annoyed every time In Young gets all excited about seeing or possibly seeing 'The Fresh Boy' (aka Hyunjoong). Pretty much EVERYTHING Hyunjoong says is fucking hilarious whether he intends to be funny or not -- he's just so casually witty ALL THE DAMN TIME and his mind is so sharp and really does seem to operate on a different level, or '4th Dimension' as the show likes to say, than most people. And I love his wife Hwangbo's reactions to his remarks, especially how she falls down ALL THE DAMN TIME from laughing so hard. I just love love love them together.*sigh*

Alex & Shin Ae are funny in that the other couples are always bitching about how their house is nicer than everyone else's or how even the film used to tape their parts looks better quality than what is used for the other couples. It's also funny how they other wives complain to their husbands that they're not as romantic as Alex and then the husbands get all indignant and are like 'hey, why are you so into Alex?!' Crown J and In Young's little tiffs over In Young's supposed fondness for 'The Fresh Boy' and Alex always have me LMAO!

What episode are you on? :)

I loved that episode on the water theme park, that was oh-so-fucking HILARIOUS. Crown J was all 'WTF' with In Young and her "ooh, fresh boy!!!11" moment, and I'm exactly the same; I have to watch their parts over and over so I could laugh at them again hahahaha

I'm currently on the 19th (I skipped the first ones that didn't have Hyunjoong and Hwangbo haha) episode and I'm amused and marveling at the same time at how Hyunjoong manages to answer 'correctly' even when he's half-asleep, ie. when Hwangbo was all "I'm going back to Korea soon, don't you think it's a waste of time sleeping?" Fresh Boy can still say "Of course it is a waste of time" coz damn, if I was in his position? I'd just go right back to sleep and mumble 'whatever'! XD

The water theme park is CLASSIC -- it has my two favorite couples interacting together and I was LMAO constantly at how the show compared their interactions -- Crown J is all sweet and protective towards In Young holding her in the manmade wave pool and poor Hyunjoong is so sweet in that he tries so hard but is so awkward helping his Hwang-Buin around in the pool like he's scooping up seaweed, hahaha. And when Crown J and In Young get into another tiff over lunch, poor Hyunjoong & Hwangbo just sit there at a loss what to do, almost choking on their food in discomfort. It's the little moments of this show that are so awesome like when Hyunjoong tries to stick the umbrella into the sand and finds to his disappointment that the 'sand' is hard and fake -- it's a little moment, but I was in hysterics.

Episode 19 is one of my favorites of the series, actually Hwangbo's entire surprise trip to Japan to visit her husband and his bandmates is fantastic -- so many wonderful moments and I got verklempt a lot at seeing the sad lonely little sequestered lives of the boy pop idols; the show has made me love Hyunjoong's bandmates like they're all my little brothers, they are so sweet and adorable. I get all squeeful now every time SS501 appears on WGM. So cute how they threw that little surprise party for HJ & HB.

Fresh Boy can still say "Of course it is a waste of time" coz damn, if I was in his position? I'd just go right back to sleep and mumble 'whatever'! XD
Fresh Boy is smooooth, I agree. He seems blunt and spacey but reveals that he's always attentive and thoughtful -- I was constantly surprised and impressed by him, he seems like he really understands women from the way he treats his wife; he may not do the showy romantic gestures like some of the other husbands but the romantic surprises he does for Hwangbo, which you will see as you progress into the series, are almost more romantic because they're more real and unique to him and them as a couple. He always says things in the right way too without going over-the-top and making it seem phony like when she asked him that while trying to wake him up. If it were me and someone tried to wake me up like that, shaking and tickling me, I would be pissed off. ;b
