Oh, this is lovely! I love the way you continued the episode/hint at the aftermath it's left and show how supportive he can be to Elizabeth, too.

They walk in silence, strides synchronising so completely within a few steps that Elizabeth doesn’t think anyone listening would be able to tell that there was more than one person.

I absolutely adore that sentence - it rings very true with what we've seen of them walking together and is a lovely image to have.

As for the "you're important to the city, and you're important to me" line.... *loves very much*
