longing for God
Psalm 130:3 Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, o Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. I am counting on the Lord, yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word. I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn.
Sometimes we are like kids, thinking if we are good, our heavenly father will approve of us. And yet, no matter how hard we try, we just can't be perfect. It is easy to focus on our sins and get down on ourselves. The Lord is ready to forgive. A heart that longs for the Lord will not go unrewarded. Life is too short to let little things steal our joy. A simple prayer of repentance brings us to the place where we can rejoice in the Lord's presence. What we long for is right in front of us. If the desire is not there either, ask and it will be given to you.
