bad wigs, dubious warddrobe choices, teh gay, and awkward continuity.....

it must be Hanazakari no Kimitachi e time!

all caps are from baidu.

Initial reaction after, FINALLY OMG WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG, FUJI?

The SP is uneven and still leaves this viewer with more questions than answers (granted it's because I watched it raw and had to guess at the context of everything), but the Hanakimi brand of crack (TM) is still alive and very much a vital part of why this show is so beloved and enjoyable to watch. Or reviled and dismissed, your mileage may vary. (Except: YOU'RE WRONG. Oh, I love my shiny bias.)

And I admit, when the familiar chords of Orange Range's theme kicked in, I got a little smiley- because I have missed the Ohsaka gakuen crowd, and the cast's chemistry is still as great as ever.

All the dorms are back, with their fearless leaders finally graduating:

Old favorites are back:

even if some of them don't quite look the same

and who's that girl?

I certainly hope they paid Minami extra for having to act with Paris Hilton's old hair.

and of course, at the core of it all, is the relationship between Mizuki and Nakatsu and Sano

And the Gay. Hana Kimi isn't Hana Kimi without the Gay.

And it couldn't have been what it was without the cast it did. Honestly, if Hana Kimi hadn't aired, half of the new crop of Fuji shows would be totally different - the Ikemen effect. Only time will tell if any of this will spell out a long lasting career past idol-hood for the boys of Hana Kimi, but I (AND MY SHINY BIAS! WHEEE!) am looking forward to what comes next for Maki.

Oh wait, it's Innocent Love. Which is coming up next week. Bring on the pretty pain, Fuji!

hana kimi never leave me, hanazakari no kimitachi e, jdrama, hana kimi
