Even Jiro and Wu Zun think Maki is hot
I'm watching the prefinale SP for Hana Kimi, and you guys, I cannot stop smiling. There may be a little crying too.
OMGHANAKIMI CAST NEVER LEAVE ME. I love them so much, their chemistry on and off set, the obvious friendships they've made and the wacky hijinks and all the sneak peeks at the finale - CROSSDRESSING HEAVEN, SANO AND MIZUKI IN MATCHING MAID OUTFITS....this sublime mix of giddy almost stupid happiness and innocence and summer sweetness - god, I love it all so much. And I was pleasantly surprised to see the shout out to the TW version, and then Jiro and Wu Zun popping up - we could take a note, fandom - the casts clearly don't have all this crazy nitpickery and animosity that some factions of the fandom do. (I may have regained some of my lost like for the TW version after I saw that.)
Favorite bits of the SP: Yamamoto Yusuke on the verge of tears after everyone dogpiled him with congratulations - I don't know what the context was, but he was SO ADORABLE. THE JANKEN BATTLE TO THE DEATH! (or, don't mess up my hair!) Maki popping into frame and pushing Toma out of the way after a particularly JE pose session, Oscar and everyone in the studio cooing, "kawaii" when Maki showed up in her maid outfit, ALL THE CROSSDRESSING, FANSERVICE I TRULY LOVE, and oh, oh, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, I love you. Thank you so much.
In other news, Yuuta Hiraoko has MAD SKILLZ. Oh, Yuuta. Who knew you had it in you? Take that, JE boys!

Here are the puppies and the fluffiness I've come to expect from HK - the boys have gotten over being Boys, and Ashiya is their mascot - I've noticed that the really asshole Ikemen are always Ikemen we've never seen before - ie, all of the track and field team that isn't Sekime and Sano, and random bathroom molester guys.

aura of trust! rainbow aura! Also, belatedly, I know - but Yamamoto Yusuke is actually a pretty beautiful boy - his cheekbones and his mouth and yeaaaaaaaah. I could see why there were rumors about him playing Tamaki, his role in Kamen Rider Kabuto may have helped too.
Nakatsu got his hug, and BFF! I loved them together, in a different way from how I love Sano/Mizuki, and I really liked how the jdrama tweaked their relationship.
Umeda-sensei as busdriver....and....taking her and Sano to the airport in the school bus? Oh man. I'm just...I thought there would be no more squee. I was wrong. SO WRONG.

SANO YOU SMOOTH OPERATOR. And wow, way to emphasize the height difference between you and Maki - poor guy must need to see a chiropractor all the time...BUT STILL YAY KISSING!!!!
