Ending my Chuseok holiday with a bit of geekiness - 1000+ screencaps (I KNOW) from the Japanese-American movie Dareka ga watashi ni kiss wo shita (lit. Someone Kissed Me).
I will have a review, a more comprehensive one - how does it hold up to the book/my biases, etc but for now I will leave you with:
1) It was very pretty.
2) There is quite a lot of kissing in the film. GOOD kissing.
3) the details in the background for fans of the novel are A+++
4) High school was never that much fun - even for those of us who did not have traumatic high school experiences. It gets better, really it does. Unless you are determined to bring a miasma of suck everywhere you go.
5) Teaching in an foreign environment really has honed my ear to the little differences in pronunciation and tone that foreign speakers of English have - plus I just like to think I'm a good listener.
