They're not JE fetuses, which was what I was worrying about ~ but...considering the age of the characters and my (admittedly biased) opinion on their acting skills - the three JE that are going to be in the live action Wallflower - it's making me move this adaptation to my tepid DNW list:

Kame, Tegoshi, and Uchi will be in the Wallfower

Look. I think Kame tries really hard, and he works at it and he's serious and when he eats, he doesn't look all weird and bony in the face so yay, for nutrition, but he has been having a terrible time picking projects that are suited to his more quirky persona. And I don't know if starring in Yet Another Manga Adaptation is going to help his acting career. So I think he should fire his manager, because WTF.

I've not seen anything Tegoshi's acted in, but Uchi was pretty cute in Osen. Honestly, I feel with the proven successes of non JE in movies and tv shows in the past few years (hello, meteoric rise of nearly all the main leads from Hana Kimi) that the tried and true JE model needs to be revamped or done away with. D-Boys and Evergreen entertainment are coming on strong, and STARDUST has always been a force - what with Takayuki Yamada and now Okada Masaki dominating all the recent headlines. And of course Kanata Hongo.

I guess it's just TBS' turn to get the lion's share of the Johnnies, since NTV and Fuji have been farming them for a while, but meh.

Of course I could be too fatalistic and the cast will prove me wrong, especially the lead girl, who I've seen mostly from Meh-chan Something with the Butlers and I guess was in Buzzer Beat? But Sunako is such a complex and oddly delightful heroine - I don't know if that actress will have the skills to pull it off. It could be Koizora 3: the reckoning.

what the hell japan, jdrama
