Sorry about the suckiness happening at the moment.
Your snark of this drama is hilarious. I laughed the whole way through this post. I am now curious about how much this series was influenced by Twilight...
all the cute boys are from yokohamacalledinvainJuly 15 2009, 05:24:24 UTC
I have spontaneously decided this - admittedly only because Yujin and Osamu are from there. And okay, I'm biased because largest Chinatown in Japan, and, hello, MY PEOPLE.
but yokohama is a very popular place to film for dramas, I gather - the ferris wheel and it's been the site of many a romance drama, i guess?
I'll have to check it out once I get to Japan - when and if. :D
but it's a sign of how terrible (okay I may be serving up the hyperbole pie here - but generally --- uncomfortable) my life is going that coming home to watch shamelessly bad tv show automatically puts me in better spirits.
Then why haven't I found any?!?wistfulmemoryJuly 15 2009, 05:42:49 UTC
I didn't realize Osamu was from Yokohama. *am a bad fangirl* I went to Yokohama's Chinatown two Christmases ago, though it was a very cold and windy day, so I didn't spend too much time there. I should try to hit it up again before I leave

they must be there! they certainly produce cute artists/musicians and so on and so forth. :D
Yeah, he is. Kanagawa prefecture, Yokohama's the capital city, right?
The distances in Jdramas always amuse me - the running to places and everything - atadan took place in some area of Tokyo, but the trick heart castle was located in Gunma. Quite a long way to walk/run from the central city.
I'm hoping to be in Japan within the next two years to teach English. Or Taiwan. Either one. I'd be happy.
Re: I'm probably looking in the wrong place...calledinvainJuly 15 2009, 06:41:13 UTC
it's all about the atmosphere!
Hmmm....places I could think of from jdramas - actually, all of mine are Atadan based (NEVER LEAVE ME) at the moment, so I can't think of anything else, really. I think the school they film Vampire Boy is in Chiba, anyway. *G* I'm quite afraid that I might have to fic at some point....
that's what i'm looking for, the experience. I've lived abroad, so I know how much fun and enriching it can be to be a part of another culture and how much it enhances the appreciation for the one I left at home - I figure I'd go for a year - two years? Maybe swing by S. Korea? And then come home and finally know what I'm going to be when I grow up. :D
Thanks for keeping me company - I'm about to head to bed, but I've got something for you.....
Yeah, you're probably right...wistfulmemoryJuly 15 2009, 13:10:50 UTC
I'm trying to hunt down the little garden that Takeru and the lawyer met in. I know I accidentally found it a couple of Christmases ago when my friends and I were looking for another garden, but I can't remember what area it was in. Ginza maybe? I know we're going to be hitting up Ebisu Garden and the Ueno Zoo (from HYD). If you think of anywhere else, let me know by Sunday your time as we'll be off fangirling on Monday

Takeru only grins knowingly when Sho comes home late from school, his tie awkwardly tied, the collar of his shirt pulled up to hide the marks Saki leaves behind. “So when are you going to bring your girl back here
