La la la...

So, life? All kinds of awful. Let's ignore that entirely and talk of fannish fun.

Firstly, I take it everyone knows about the cloud_watchers Veronica Mars campaign? And has seen the Cafe Press store? http://www.cafepress.com/cloudwatchers

They have some great stuff there, I'm still trying to choose and make peace with the International P&P. The exchange rate allows me a splurge, but the shipping makes me hesitate.

Second topic of the day: WIPs. Now, I have two. I started them a looooong time ago and they're enormous. As much as I don't regret starting them (back when I knew no better *g*) I think I've become more of an at-least-have-the-entire-first-draft-done person. I have them plotted out in teeny tiny detail, but still.

I had some lovely feedback for Twenty-One this morning, which was really nice. I get these emails now and then saying please, please update and feel rather guilty - but it's nice that people are even bothered. I'm currently on 12/?...and that question mark, according to the scene by scene plotting, is likely to be 36! Yes, it makes me giddy.

Every time I think maybe I'll try and wrap it up, I go back to the notes and get so excited about all the things that were meant to happen...I just can't. I've at least been working on it recently. Gotten parts 12 and 13 drafted. But I had to go back and read the whole thing to get back on track - and my memory is pretty good so I *rarely* have to do that. Now that I'm "in the flow" I'd kind of like to draft the whole thing and then edit (another thing that can take weeks per chapter with me) and post each part in turn. That means no new part for a long while, though. Ack.

More Than Words has 4 "books" @ 12 chapters per "book" and I'm only a couple of chapters into the second one. If I do the drafting thing with that too...only *after* I'm done with Twenty-One...which people are actually waiting for...well, I'll be in a retirement home, so I'll have plenty of time!

Seriously, I'd love to do that, get my WIPs all finished and start fresh with the new stuff, but then the new stuff might never escape my laptop. I have underway: one 10-ish part post Smile Time fic, a 13-part Regency AU which deals with the origins of vampire mythology, a 10-part Dark Age fic (still Slayer-centric), and - my beloved - a tongue-in-cheek space adventure fic that's likely to be 20-ish rather loooong parts. Eeek! I can't seem to abandon any of them either, I love working on each of them in different ways.

At this rate, I'll be drafting til I die and none of it will ever get posted! What's a girl to do?
