I stayed in state because I am poor and heck right now and can't get decent finaid packages! So Michigan State. :') I like it a lot though~

BUT NEXT YEAR TRANSFERS OH YEAH.

Yeah one of the main reasons I went to my uni is because it takes about 15 minutes to drive there from my house. Cheap and rent-free living woot! Where are you planning to transfer?

Aw man, that's great. :( BUT LIVING WITH PARENTS BREATHING DOWN YOUR BACK...not so much.

MIT, stanford, UIUC, Cal, UoM, Cornell, Uflorida, Georgetech, Pennstate, Northwestern. I have a good chance of squeezing into UIUC, Cal, UoM, Uflorida, Pennstate, Northwester, and Georgetech. MIT and stanford are the unobtainable reach schools. :')

I only live with my mom and she's not super strict or anything with me since I've always handled my own affairs pretty well, so I guess I'm lucky in that regard...

AHAHAHA well yeahhh they're MIT/Stanford. I'm sure you can get into at least one of the others!

Yeah my parents are Asian but they're pretty ~americanized~ so they don't really expect me to get 4.0s or anything, I think they're just glad I graduated and can get a job on my own.

I'm sure you'll do fine! I don't really know much about transfer applications because I stayed at the same uni for all four years, but I'm sure you have a good chance.

I was still held to a certain standard as a kid that was a lot stricter than most of my non-Asian friends, and I think it helped me out in the long run. My mom just became less overbearing as I got older, especially since she also expected me to take care of my siblings, and also assumes I'm an adult who knows the consequences of my own decisions etc. They weren't nearly as strict on my younger bro because my parents were already divorced by the time he was 3 yrs. old and he's a lot more spoiled/entitled than I am, so I'm kind of thankful they were harsher on me as a kid.

Aaaaah yeah my brother said they were tougher on him than me and it definitely shows. orz I'm glad you think it was good in the long run!
