Movin' on....

Today we're moving on from Bogota to head out towards the country.  I loved Bogota -- really nice people.  Yesterday we walked over to the Plaza de Bolivar, by the government buildings and where it looked like there was a demonstation gearing up.  I also spent some time at a craftsperson market place and bought some neat stuff.  And then last night we took a very long cab ride to Andres Carne de Res, which was totally worth it.  I had the best steak I'd ever eaten, and what blew me away was that the language barrier was something they saw as a problem that must be solved (rather than just being annoyed with us); they went and found someone in a nearby group who speaks English to come talk to us to make sure we could order correctly, and we ended up meeting several very cool interesting people, one of who was from Arizona but has lived in Colombia for years.  Good food, lots of dancing, political discussions..... was a fun night.

From here on out, I don't know if I'll have a lot of internet access, but we shall see.  Ciao.
