I made it.

Hey everybody.  So I'm here in London.

The flight over was okay; went pretty quickly.  There was a big high school group on it which I thought was going to be terribly obnoxious, but it wasn't so bad.  Their chaperone had absolutely zero control over them though, which he seemed to think was cute/funny, and it wasn't.  As usual, I didn't sleep on the plane.  I'm so bad at it.

Sarah and Jen got lost on the way to the airport to come get me, and didn't arrive there until two hours after I'd started waiting.  Gave me a scare because my cell phone doesn't work here so they couldn't tell me, and I didn't have a phone number or address on hand for Jen anyway, and I didn't know what I was going to do if this went on much longer.  But finally they walked up and all was well.  Drove home and I slept for 2-3 hours.  There was a full house for Christmas dinner, which involved meatloaf and vegetable kebabs.

And Lyra, Sarah's and Allan's kitten, found a Christmas cookie to steal, so a feast was had by all.

It sounded like Sarah's and Allan's wedding went off really well on Saturday, and I'm bummed to have missed it cuz it sounded like everyone had a lot of fun.  Ah, what can you do.  We watched a Christmas episode of the new Dr. Who in the evening.  I haven't seen that since I was a kid.

A lot of people left this morning so the house is quieter now, and I've got my own room which is just lovely.  I accidentally slept until 1 (jet lag, I suppose) and then it was super slow getting out of the house anyway because people were being seen off leaving, etc.  It was 3:30 when we headed off for sushi.  Then we went to Leicester Square where there was a carnival.  We slammed into each other on bumper cars and laughed on this virtual roller coaster thing.  Then we walked awhile through Trafalgar Square and along the Thames River and I got some nice pictures.

Then, we took a double decker bus home.

There are definitely more pictures to come; I just have to figure out this uploading client thing 'cuz I don't have time for the one-at-a-time crap.

Tomorrow we're starting off at 10 to go to Greenwich to visit the observatory where you can stand on the line where time starts.  :)
