Help survivors - free and meaningful
The Penn Valley, CA Elks are spearheading a drive for things for hurricane refugees who are being sheltered in their Louisiana affiliates' programs. Here is their website: http://www.grassvalleyelks.org/Sub/Announcements.cfm
I just spoke with a woman today and she assured me that they would give out every single card or letter to the evacuees, and that the people were truly appreciating them.
They also will take toiletries, socks, shoes, and cash/checks, but most of all they're looking for cards and letters.
