007 [Audio]-shortly after the lights go out fully.

Uh. The ship's still working, right? It doesn't feel...

[Muttered to herself:] Life support's still on. I think.

Calm down, girl.

[There is a crackling sound as the communicator is set down, then some shuffling, and a very prominent thud. Have some swearing intermingled with Chinese. It takes a while for Saffron to find the communicator again; during ( Read more... )

Life support is functioning. The ship has stopped and lights are off. Other systems, including that which maintains our rooms are offline too.

Please tell me you have some idea as to why.

We've stopped. It started to flicker when we started to slow, and then when we stopped, this happened. It would certainly lend itself to the theory that the dimensional instabilities themselves, the, uh, floods, are powering the ship. [Ain't science grand?]

The floods are...

Huh.

I guess that means we won't have to deal with a flood on top of everything else.

Well, I suppose the floods are just more extreme examples... an overload, if you will.

Oh, highly unlikely.

That's good to hear.

I take it you're a scientist-I'm not. Anybody looking into what's happening? Fixing what's happening?

Well, it's simply a matter of getting the ship going again. I'm not in command, so I imagine there's a reason he's decided to stop. I'm sure we'll be going again in due course.

...you think the Admiral stopped intentionally?

Of course. If it was accidental, if he truly lost power, I would know. We'd all probably know and it would be worse than this.

I kind of suspected the inmates were behind it.

I...guess that makes sense. I'd love to know what he expects to gain from it, though.

[Amused.] Oh, no. No.

Perhaps maintenance, after all, it has to be done some time.

A little warning would have been nice...

Well, the Admiral isn't known for his sensitivity.

No, it's not really one of his strong points.

I guess I can't really complain as long as it goes back to normal soon. This is getting old pretty fast.

Hmm. [He's having fun.] I'm sure that depends on the Admiral's definition of 'soon'.

Which could be weeks, if he really wants to toy with us. Wonderful.
