I'm being babysat. How thrilling.

[You can tell from her tone that it's about the last thing she wants. She goes quiet and all that can be heard is the distant murmur of many voices talking in the background, followed by a petulant sigh.]

I'm sure Lord Fanny won't mind if I stopped in for a bit of tea.

It'd be great, if you get the chance.

Of course, I'll be over in a little while.

Bring a cookie or two if you can. I could use a treat.

Private-Slow spam okay? thegooddrjones November 10 2010, 13:56:18 UTC
A cookie or chocolate? I've got chocolate biscuits as well as plan old chocolate.

Would it be greedy if I asked for both?

No. I'll be over there in a bit.

[And true to her word, Martha shows up at the spa with a picnic basket, holding her tea kettle, a tin of assorted biscuits and a box of chocolates. She looked around the spa with a grin.]

[It's a relief to see a friendly face. Being under Fanny's watchful eye all day has been surprisingly stressful, so she's glad of the excuse to relax for a while. Martha is a warden, after all-Fanny can't object to them talking.]

Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes?

[Saffron matches the words with a broad, genuine smile.]

[Martha smiled back quickly when Saffron said that she was a sight for sore eyes, and she set the picnic basket down.]

It does seem like it's been forever since we've had a chat, doesn't it?

[Another grin and Martha opens up the basket and brings out the box of chocolate and the cookies, setting them down.]

How goes it?

All right, I guess.

[Saffron hazards a glance toward the door, as if she's expecting somebody to jump out at any moment.]

What about you? With all the fuss going on lately, it's been hard to keep up with everybody.

[Martha frowned when she noticed Saffron looking at the door in such a fashion, and quickly she followed the woman's eyes to it nearly expecting Saffron's expectant look to summon someone from beyond the shadows of the doorway.

However, when she was asked about herself, Martha looked down a bit, and her skin colored.]

I'm well thank you for asking.

[The doctor's body language doesn't go unnoticed. Narrowing her eyes curiously, Saffron cocks her head to get a better look at Martha's face.]

Something tells me there's more to it than that.

[Martha's really bad at lying, so she debates for a moment because she knows that there's not a point in even trying too.]

I'm well. Some things have happened, but they're not bad.

[And they weren't; she just wasn't sure what this was yet.]

Oh come on now, you can't tease like that.

[Saffron's voice is good-natured. She's curious, but she won't push-it's kind of...nice to see Martha in a good mood, not that she would ever admit it.]

At least someone's having a nice time in the midst of all the chaos lately.

[Martha's voice dropped a bit, and she fingered her cup of tea before she poured it out.]

I'm kinda sort of seeing someone. Maybe. [A pause.] I mean, I think.

It's complicated.

[Saffron splits into a broad, genuine grin. She sneakily reaches over to the picnic basket and helps herself to a biscuit before speaking.]

The best relationships are. Anyone I know?
