I'm being babysat. How thrilling.

[You can tell from her tone that it's about the last thing she wants. She goes quiet and all that can be heard is the distant murmur of many voices talking in the background, followed by a petulant sigh.]

I can't so much as cough without someone appearing at my elbow to see what I'm doing. So yes, it is.

Then perhaps you can imagine that it is because your warden cares for you and wishes you to prosper.

Let me give you an example. I'm a married man. Should my wife tell me she were expecting, I would spend some time worrying over every little thing she did from tending a fire to drinking tea that is too hot. She would likely find this quite annoying, and eventually I'd remember she's a tough woman and let her look after herself a little more. However, it would only be because I cared.

Wardens do sometimes care about our charges. Consider that?

I think she's less worried about me and more worried about what I might do.

There are many things you could do that would be harmful to you.

My apologies. I'm not normally so rude.

I'm Armand St. Just.

Trust me, I think you've got more manners in your pinky finger than most of the folk I'm used to dealing with.

Tis possible. I'm from a time when manners were more important.

I've seen you around the Barge. I'm a little sad to learn you're an inmate.

Oh?

You're not going to hold it against me if I've done some bad things in my time, are you?

Hold it against you, no. But I feel it may limit the possibilities of our friendship.

I've been very good lately, I'll have you know. Mostly.
