Haha, out of interest, how would US people say it? Over here we would say bottle cap or bottle top, or lid. The thing the bottle opener removes. I always love to put tiny pieces in hidden humour in things.
And thank you. I tend to write stream-of-consciousness, bringing in elements as I think of them. The video in itself wasn't intended to be a masterpiece, just a visual aid for the words and I did indeed want to contrast the 'indoor mind' with the outdoor mindset.
Weirdly, when I was writing the NHS verse about the intubation, the mention of the Women's Institute reminded me of the English hymn 'Jerusalem' so I've used the feel and some of the devices in that hymn to guide me during that verse which I found strangely effective. I also really enjoyed bringing the history lesson of Eyam. It was a book I'd completely forgotten reading until someone mentioned Eyam in a newspaper article a few weeks ago and then I remembered so reading the article plus the graveyard walks... the history element really came together. I also really enjoyed the chance to read something slowly and savour it as poetry events are usually so strictly timed. Thank you!
I might actually share the text, it hadn't occurred to me!
