7TH MOD

Well, I'm at school. In my 7th MOD. I'm actually kinda nervous, were having an assessment today. It's over our surgical tray set ups. I mean, I know how to set them up, which ones are sterile and which ones are not, but its kinda like I'm afraid I'm going to freeze because I need my A this MOD. I have gone all 6 MODs with a 4.0 average and I do not want to mess it up now. I'm going to see if I can remember what goes on what trays....

I&D you need your  kelly hemostats, scalpel, adson thumb forceps, sterile gauze, iodine, cotton balls, a small cup for the iodine, sterile gloves to the dr, a biohazard bag, a non sterile field, a fenestrated drape, a non fenestrated drape,  sutures, a cotton swab/culture kit, anesthetic[needle, syringe, meds] and possibly a drainage device such as a wick or something. Well, I got all except for the bolded ones. For the most part thats good...now for suture removal.

For suture removal you need your spencer suture scissors, thumb forceps, gauze, peroxide, possibly butterfly/steri-strips, antiseptic soultions, 2 small bowls, sterile tape.

Wound dressing consists of sterile dressing, sterile gauze, non sterile gauze, surgical tape, scissors for the tape/bandage, lister bandage scissors, sponge forceps, iodine, peroxide, 2 small bowls, cotton balls. Wow, I do not know that one at all, I hope that she does not give that one to me. I'm actually scared. Nicole already did I&D and Autumn is doing the laceration repair. So whats left is Wound dressing and suture removal.
