"Top five improbable deaths in wuxia/kdrama/twdrama. Or whatever."
Here is the first of my Top Five lists. This one is long so it gets its own post. I also had major brainblock while doing this and couldn't think of many things so two of them are me cheating.
Top five improbable deaths in wuxia/kdrama/twdrama, from lesbiassparrow
1. Death By Flying Carpet -- The Little Fairy (cdrama)
2. Autosuggestive Coma Glass Brain Death -- Sleeping Bride (jmovie)

3. Fire Beast Arm Transplant Almost-Death -- Storm Riders (cmovie)
NOT A DEATH, BUT ALMOST, AND IS THE FUNNIEST HONG KONG MOVIE EVER. Basically, the hero, Cloud, controls water and uses it as a weapon, sort of like a fireball but with liquids instead. At one point he is trapped in a cave with his former master and can't fight back because the cave is completely dry! SO HE RIPS OFF HIS OWN ARM AND USES HIS BLOOD TO BLAST HIM AND ESCAPE!! Then he is miraculously washed ashore and a blacksmith's daughter finds him and saves him; in a twist of fate, the Blacksmith possesses a FIRE BEAST ARM (which he trained to achieve) that has been UNCONTROLLABLE for years! THE APPENDAGE REBELS AGAINST IT'S CURRENT OWNER SO HE LOPS IT OFF AND TRANSPLANTS IT ONTO CLOUD, ITS RIGHTFUL OWNER. You have to watch this to believe it.
4. Death Via Second-Hand Stabbing - Young Warriors of the Yang Clan (cdrama)
I quote myself: Also, they give you all the best angsty situations like trying to force the hero to stab his own OTP in order to get the antidote to cure legions of poisoned soldiers. Of course that never works and the OTP usually STABS herself and then backs into the OTP interloper, serving her right. Because this is wuxia, the OTP survives but the interloper does not. She doesn't have the restorative power of Hu Ge's love.
If you click on the link above you can see her getting dumped 3 seconds before dying. Also an excellent Death Via Lightning-Stab scene.
5. Oguri Shun Running Over Zombies with A Subway Train -- Ghost Train (crappiest japanese horror movie in history). They are already dead, does that count? It starts about halfway through this video. Really the only part worth watching in the entire film.
