It has been an interesting September, and it's not even over yet. I finished work on the 5th and had planned to take a couple of days to catch up on things and then start working again. Of course that didn't happen. Derek and I had decided it's time to move in together because going back and forth from my place to his was getting too stressful and time consuming and there's the added bonus of saving money. We didn't think it would take over a month to find a place, but it has. We're meeting with new landlords tonight, I believe to put down a deposit and sign the papers, so we should have somewhere now. It's just that after all this looking I'm not taking anything for granted. I'm really excited about having a place that's ours and knowing that I'll see him everyday. I'm also excited about our new Queen-size bed because I've only ever slept on a twin before and now I won't get pushed to the very edge in the night. And it's something else that's ours.

With the rush to find a new home I've been neglecting my job search, but I've found a few to apply for and if those don't work out then I'm going to try temp work. It's so strange to me to have an overall plan for what I want to do in life, but very little idea of how I want to spend the next two years. The whole point of this time off before grad school is to just live and enjoy and travel, but I don't know how I want to earn the money to support this lifestyle. I guess we'll just see what happens.

With all this personal uncertainty I have been seriously neglecting my friends and family and I feel terrible about it. I don't know why I get so antisocial when I get stressed. It's a habit I've been trying to break, but I guess I'll just have to work on improving it with time.
