2007 Books

There are lots of children's books on here because I prefer to read kids books while I'm working (then I don't have to worry about anyone reading inappropriate things over my shoulder).

-Life of Pi

-The Secret History of the Pink Carnation
I didn't know it was a romance novel when I grabbed it from the library, but it was good plane reading. ETA: I'm not sure if "good" is the right word, but it was light junk, which is all that's needed for flying.

-Singling out the Couples
I love that Koerner has entertaining books. This one has a fun style.

-How I paid for College
OMG SO funny! But not something to read on a plane if you're worried about the grandmothers sitting next to you.

-The Lady and the Unicorn

-Sexing the Cherry

-Trainspotting
I expected to hate it but actually really like it (except for the gross parts).

-England Away
So bad. Made me have to remind myself that I don't actually hate men.

-Love in the Time of Cholera

-Emily of New Moon
I like her almost as much as Anne of Green Gables

-Emily Climbs

-Beach Road
The twist actually kinda pissed me off. What's happened to narrater reliability?

-Wrapt in Crystal

-Tom's Midnight Garden
As cute as the movie. I think it would be perfect to read aloud with kids.

-The Book Thief
My mom thought this was one of the best things she's read in a long time. I liked it alright, but I don't like that it gave away things about the ending halfway through.

-Villette
I like it so much more than Jane Eyre and the ending rocks!

-The Velvet Room
Not Zilpha Keatly Snyder's best, but still pretty good

-Ella Enchanted
So adorable and so good! Some girls in the library were talking about it so I had to read it again.

- Sir Apropos of Nothing

-Emily's Quest

-The Secret Under My Skin
I think it's an amazing concept and written very well. I'm also starting to like the name Blay.

-Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
*It's been five months and I'm still upset about Fred and Tonks and Lupin

-Eragon

-24 Girls in 7 Days
Yes, it's silly YA fic, but it was cute.

-A Great and Terrible Beauty

-Rebel Angels

-True Believer

-The Boy Next Door
50s romances just aren't as good

-Voyage to the End of the Room
I was intrigued by the concept of a woman who never leaves her building, but I was disappointed because very little of it actually takes place there and it was a little too weird for me.

-On Chesil Beach
Stupid men

-Capt. Hook: The Adventures of a Notorious Youth
Um, I think I'd put this in YA rather than Children's because even I found it a bit creepy.

-Twilight
I love that I actually want to read the everyday details of Bella's life and like those better than the "action" bits. This was my third time reading it because I'm preparing for Eclipse.

-New Moon

-Eclipse
I think the action bits are starting to get better, but I was more disappointed in some of the characters than I would like. I definitely think it's better than New Moon though.

-The Scarlet Letter
I didn't hate it as much this time, but I still don't like it. Dimmesdale is just such a weak loser.

-Cheet

-Uncle Tom's Cabin
It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I actually liked some parts.

-Billy Budd
Billy Budd is not black. And I still really don't like Melville.

-The Awakening

-Love, Always
One of my favorite books. I love Koerner Library for having it.

-The Marrow of Tradition

-North and South
Squee! I love this book! Mr. Thornton gives Mr. Darcy some serious competition.

-Pants on Fire

-Feeling Sorry for Celia

-The Mediator: Shadowland

-The Mediator: Ninth Key

-The Mediator: Darkest Hour
It's embarrassing to have read three Meg Cabot books in a row, but Danya lent them to me and they only take a few hours each.

-The Thirteenth Tale

-We Shall Not Be Moved

-Case Histories
