Time is on your side, it's on your side now...

Hey everyone!
So, this last week and a half has come and passed, and I did survive. It definitely was hard at first, but I got through it, and I remembered how I can make myself happy! Not a huge feat for most people, but it was a deceptively big challenge for a while. Thank you to all my friends who kept me going when I was really bummed. You guys totally rock. Two more days until I will see him again!! Oh, and I actually got a postcard!! Amazing, I know. It took about a week to get to me, but it made me so happy.

Vienna Woods has been really fun this year! Morning practices are really easy, and that's saying something since I haven't swum in months. I'm used to these practices being really hard, but our new coach doesn't seem to want to challenge us at all. We're all a little uneasy about him.. he just doesn't seem too into VW. Maybe it's because his wife just had their first BABY!! It's craziness. After practice on Tuesday, my friends Mike Kane, Lauren Bryan and Todd Stemetzki went to Chesapeake Bagel. Three Vienna Cops showed up, and Mike decides to strike up conversation with them. He goes, "Hey, I'm pretty sure one of you guys pulled me over recently!" Lauren is like covering her face, and Todd is trying to tell Mike to shut up. Mike asks them about drug busts in Vienna and other things, and the one cop talking to us finally decides to get his food. Mike tells us he has been pulled over 7 times, Lauren twice and Todd a few (arrested by one of them there) while I was sitting there going, "You know what guys? I've never been pulled over!" Mike decides he needs to shout "Hey! She's never been pulled over! Watch out for her!" They respond that they'll get me, they get them all eventually. Thanks Mike! Hahaha it was great.

Our Saturday meet was amazing. We won by 2 points!!! It was the most intense swim meet I can ever remember! It came down to the relays, we had to win 6 out of 12 to win the meet. That may seem a pretty easy amount, but relays are so unpredictable. It ended up coming down to the second to the last relay! I anchored the 15-18 girls one, and we won! Yessss it was so great. The fourth of July relays were interesting this year. Parker Ramsdell decided to dress up in a girls suit and swim as a 13-14 girl named Jane Doe. It was a hilarious sight.

So tomorrow after the Vienna Woods alumni meet, my mom (who is SWIMMING in the meet! Yeah mom.. she is going to kick major ass), Charlie and I are heading down to Virginia Tech. I really hope I like it and get more excited about school. Charlie will be checking out his apartment and moving some stuff down there, and he'll also be showing me around. I want to add one more thing. I love my brother because he makes me laugh no matter what. Last week when I was so sad, seemingly everyday, he didn't ask any questions, didn't needle me about it, he just found some way to make me laugh. He is one of the goofiest kids I know, and I'm so glad he's my brother. He does the best impressions, and will make a complete idiot out of himself to make me happy. Yeah, he can be a complete asshole sometimes and we clash a lot, but he's here for me when I need it, and I am so grateful. Thanks Chunky! (right when I wrote that he came into the room crawling on the ground pretending to be a cat.. then he hit his head on the desk.. oh charlotta)

Well, as swimming goes, I will be getting up bright and early tomorrow. I bought a competitive pink suit with white hawaiian print today, and will be wearing my suit from when I was eight over it! It's pretty old and see through, so wearing a suit underneath is necessary. Yeah vintage Vienna Woods suits! I can't wait to see former Vienna Woods swim team people.. it's going to be so fun!
peace and harmony~Em
