Boys

I do not think boys ever grow up. Or at least the ones I have met. I am friends with this dude--let's call him Calvin. We've been friends for awhile, and have flirted with being more, but never took it to that level. Since he's gone home for Christmas he has avoided talking to me on AIM. Well (praise the college gods for creating facebook) tonight I found out on facebook that he is dating a girl. No big deal. Doesn't bother me in terms of she got him instead of me. But it bothers me that this guy, who is hardly a BOY, completely avoided the situation and was afraid to tell me. Since he went home he has been fairly avoidant, hasn't talked as much as he usually does. Was he afraid of telling me he now has a girlfriend? Why can't guys have balls to give it to me straight????

Another guy--let's call him Hobbes. ahahaha. I'm so funny. Anyways. Me and Hobbes have known each other for a while. We've got a 'history' as you may call it--I'd rather call it friends with benefits but whatever. So, we haven't been on the closest of terms this year. In November I left him a voicemail and told him I was sorry HE didn't think we could be friends and told him it was up to him to get in touch. Didn't hear a peep from him for a month. Then, one random night during Dead Week or Finals Week he IM's me. We talk it up for a bit, and he says he wants to hang out. I'm happy to finally hear from him so I say sure. I called him when I got home and he only had two or three days before he left to go visit family. He kept saying he wanted to hang out 'but not tonight' (had stuff he had to do). So whatever, that's fine. He leaves to visit family. We talk occasionally while he's gone. He sometimes seemed into talking other times didn't--again, that's fine, I understand having people to visit with and things to do. The last two nights he has just vanished (also known as: blowing me off). Again, this guy is hardly a BOY (closer than Calvin, but still), yet he just doesn't have the balls to say what he means and wants to say. Why the hell did he reconnect after I put the ball in his court and gave him an out? So if he was able to find his balls during Dead Week or Finals Week, where the eff are they now? If he didn't want anything to do with me then why did he re-connect?

AAAAAH. BOYS.

P.S. My smiley doesn't know if it is a lemon or a lime.
