Quick update
Our Holidays were nice and quiet. :) We ended up not going down to Klamath for a visit, because Mike had to work, and we were finally just settled.
Yule was pretty quiet, we made a simple observance, and decorated the tree with symbols of what we want to come into our lives in the upcoming year, as traditional. I also decorated the mantle, which made a great place to put the cards we received. I felt bad that we didn't get our cards out on time, but I'll be sending New Year's greetings out to the family, with our thank-you cards. We got some very nice things, clothes and toys for the kids, and mostly gift cards for the two of us. We got a few items for the kitchen, including an electric skillet and pressure-cooker, both of which Mike has wanted for a while, so he's been having fun cooking with those. :) We had a fun time going downtown to get each other gifts, too.
Christmas Eve we filled the stockings for the kids. Both of our moms had visited the previous week, so we got to see some family, at least. Christmas day we went over to my aunt's for dinner with her and her hubby. It was very nice, she's happy to have little kids around... her grandkids live out of town, and she misses them a lot. She's basically had kids around to take care of her whole life, with 6 little brothers and sisters. Not having them around now, I think it's both nice and weird for her.
Jasmine's still growing well, and is such a good girl. I actually got her in a onesie and pants today, instead of a sleeper or nightgown as usual. She'll be growing into the rest of her extensive wardrobe soon, I'm sure. hehe. Need to call tomorrow to find out when her next checkup will be. Breatfeeding is still going about half of the time now, but is getting to be a bigger pain with such a wiggle-worm. Not sure how much longer we'll be at it, but at least for a while. She's starting to smile at me sometimes, which just melts my heart. She's so beautiful.
Kyle's doing pretty well. Poor kid is bored a lot of the time, so we're doing our best to keep him occupied, so that he doesn't climb everything, or tear things up. I think he'll be a lot better, being in school again. He starts next Monday, will be going 4 days a week, and for 3-hour classes, which is an hour longer than he had in Klamath. He's pretty much not taking a nap now, only on occaision. Seems to be okay for now.
Mike's schedule changes next week, which is kind of a pain. He'll now have Sunday and Monday off, and work 5 8-hour days, instead of 4 10-hour days. It's not that bad, but working 11-8 is kinda annoying. Hopefully he'll get the other position he applied for, but we'll see.
I'm pretty much feeling all better, just still very out of shape. My hips have been bothering me a bit. Need to start walking again soon. Maybe when Kyle starts school.
I called NEW today to let them know I won't be coming back after my maternity leave. I'll be looking for a job here in Bend soon, probably in a few weeks. Not looking forward to the job hunting part, but I don't mind working. We're getting by okay at the moment, but won't get caught up, let alone get ahead, if we don't have another income.
Not sure yet what I'll be doing for my birthday, except getting a tattoo. :) Mike's going to take me, for my birthday present. I'm going to be getting my coven tattoo touched up and extended. I'd like to see if we can get a sitter, and go see Eragon, but we'll see.
