Whoa...I just saw Elliot Yamin while I was driving home!
I normally never take blvd. either...but I saw some people standing out on the sidewalk with Elliot signs so I took it to check it out. As I went further there were TONS of people and it was so cool. It may be dumb to freak out about celebrities, but I will never knock ANYTHING that unites a city like this. It was so cool to drive down the street. Guys kept yelling stuff at me and the rest of the cars, and people told me to honk for Elliot so I finally got to use my horn on purpose. Traffic stopped then, and there were sirens, so I pulled my scooter to the side of the road between some cars (having a scooter is glorious), and went to stand on the median with a bunch of people. And then all of a sudden, Elliot passed with his entourage. He was sitting in a convertible and waving. I was only a couple feet away.
The funny thing is that I have not watched one episode of American Idol, but I'm totally caught up in the excitement. I mean, Richmond needs more famous homeboys.
That was really cool, and since then it's seemed like the entire city of Richmond is in a good mood. Everyone was smiling at me on my way home and waving.
