The first heartfelt LJ post in a while
So I finally broke my anti-social streak by going to the Welcome Back, Parker! party. (Thanks, Parker, you're always a lovely host.) And while I mostly had a good time, I found that I feel incredibly disconnected from most everyone. It was good to see people I hadn't seen in a while, but that's what it felt like: seeing old friends. Maybe my subconscious is letting go of OS and all it holds because it knows how horrible I am at goodbyes. Yes, that must be it. I suppose that is a good thing, and I should be grateful for all my "old" friends and the memories that go along with them. I was finding it hard to get really excited about school while I was having nonstop fun here, but now that certain aspects of my life just aren't as great, I'm becoming more excited about school and the energetic, friendly people I see on Facebook. I think I can finally say that I'm almost completely ready to head off in the fall. There are still people/things/places I'll have an incredibly hard time leaving behind, though. I do have one more month.
