london update: number one

so, it's been an eventful but relaxing few days so far. i arrived in one piece and with my lovely new luggage on Sat night. Since I got in early, i made it to the MaAllister's before anyone was in bed! Well, if u realized that they dont all get to sleep before midnight normally, it's not that great of a feat, but either way...it was nice to arrive early.

Sunday was Mother's Day, and so we had a nice brunch for Ann and for Jef's mother, complete with presents and such. i took a walk with Ann, discussing the war crimes, etc that are happening in Iraq--not my prefered conversation topic. i was able to get to church late afternoon and saw Bex, Ben, Al, Simon, and some others that i hung out with last summer. we went to the traditional spot afterwards, the pub called Bunch of Grapes, for drinks and chatting. Fun times!

Yesterday was so great! I spent the majority of the day with Jeff Chu, from TIME. (i think that i have mentioned him before...he's my pal who visited a couple times in the fall b/c his sister lives in summerville) I went over to hang out, catch up, and help him fix dinner b/c he was having a dinner in honor of my visit! It was great to see him, and to just talk that afternoon. Casey McAllister joined us for a bit, which was nice too. We made shrimp, some chicken dish thing, stuffed tomatoes, and other yummy stuff for dinner. The dinner was soooooooo fun. I had an absolutely fab time!! I love my TIME friends, and they all seem to be doing so well. Jumana and Adam came, which was lovely. Adam's sense of humor is well intact and he and Jumana seem to be doing well, and that's always a good thing. Monique from PEOPLE came, and made me laugh just as much as ever--especially when she forgot her own boyfriend's name. heehee... Yasmin and Meryem came--such lovely gals. Yasmin managed, at one point, to forget that she and Mer went to school together since middle school and caused a huge burst of laughter from the table at one point--def one of those "had to be there" moments, but seriously hilarious!! It was sad to say goodbye, but i'll see them all again later this week.

Today, I met up with Emma, another TIME friend. Turns out she's an avid reader of the LJ, so "Hey, Emma!" Well i should prolly say hi to David as well, because, as he put it, "ocasionally" reads my LJ. Anyway, we went to the Boulevard which is one of my fav lunch places. Turns out the same dude is a waiter there from last year. i nearly died when i saw him. haha! anyway... lunch was lovely, just caught up and such. Then Yas met up for coffee at Starbucks (what a shock!) and we chatted for an hour or so while i reorganized my new (!) wallet--it's mint green and sooo cute! heehee... Then Yas and i walked around Covent Garden for a bit, and popped into work for like 2 seconds to say hi to David, Mer, & Monique. I managed to escape the view of anyone but them while i was there. w00t! heehee... Tonight i had family dinner with the McAllister's. It was nice to be with their family; i really feel like i'm home with them. =)

I should go, especially since i'm meant to grab drinks with Casey, but leave comments!! I miss all you stateside ppl, especially those i havent seen in AGES. I'm back to boston May 18th, Lordwilling. *hugs*
