As scary as all this is, I couldn't help laughing as I watched the chaos unfold on the Wizards board. Maybe it was nervous laughter. In any case, this probably will make no sense to anyone who doesn't game, so for anybody on my flist that reads this, I offer this as a metaphor: It's like when Microsoft started to talk about making another operating system. New operating systems are scary and plus, many users have just gotten around to getting used to XP. Not to mention the fact that it means sinking all that money into it.
4th Edition is like that. It COULD be better, but if it is, that means hundreds of dollars spent on new books and countless hours spent learning the new rules back to front...again.
