There seems to be a vast amount of disappointment over the finale episode, but I for one don't think it was that bad at all. Really.
The only spoilers I read...and it was purely by accident...was one that mentioned the fate of the ducklings. So it's true I wasn't especially surprised by that. But then, I don't really expect them to be gone for good. Knowing the writer's spectacular record for forgetting plotlines, I suspect all of them will be back. As ducklings. Really.
I'm not suggesting the finale was spectacular, but what I am saying is that there was so much to appreciate.
- House is a ninja, apparently. But also, apparently, not from Wilson
- "staring uselessly at Foreman" and "Foreman's not the only chocolate covered cherry in the box" are both LMAO and House/Foreman, much? I know, I know, loyal H/W shipper here and all, but it's a novel concept for me.
- Wilson sheds light on exactly WHY House drives a crappy old car (something I've wondered about considering his income)
- "He's afraid to be who he thinks you are" = Only Wilson knows the REAL House.
- Foreman laughing as he reads his emails reminded me of myself when I read the h/w comm
- "Foreman's not as easy as Cameron" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Come on, that had me laughing for like 5 minutes. So awesome.
- Three words: Cane. Air. Guitar.
- EVERYONE yells at House. Come on, that was funny.
- Chase still manages to be awesome by being useful after being fired. I coulda swore House was going to say "you're un-fired" for a second there. Anybody else?
- Foreman gives out House's phone number. Seriously, he doesn't realize he's already like House? The guy's in denial. Although giving House a taste of his own medicine was pretty damn funny,.
- "I'm trapped inside a montior!" Rofl
- House and Wilson banter while not even being the same room.
- Alright...if the ducklings really do leave...Botox girl = new Cameron? Maybe? Potentially less annoying.
- House's "Why, God?" expression after the "miracle" was priceless. It made me giggle because I knew it just pushed House more to figure out what was wrong because, as House vs. God showed us, he just can't let God win.
- I think House's "I don't care", is really just another case of "methinks he doth protest too much". I really DO think he cares. I don't think any of Cuddy's suggestions about his feelings are right. Rather, I think it's somewhere in between. He doesn't care about their feelings, but he does care if his curing her will make a positive impact. He obviously seems to care if she's able to have a child because of him, and he doesn't seem to hate people as much as he says when he celebrates with a husband over a cigar. So, do you really think he doesn't care? Really?
- Chase/Cameron moment was totally cute, and, as a double bonus, that hopefully means an end to the Ham.
- Ah, the passive-aggressive sandwich making. How I missed you. :)
- "I need you" (furtive glance at Wilson) Hee. ^.^
- The cut to Wilson's reaction following House's "nice tries are worthless" was very intriguing. That could mean...so many things. House won't let Foreman go that easily? Wilson agrees with the statement considering all the times he's tried to help House deal with his problems? That trying to get House to change is worthless and he should actually do something? Mmmm, speculation is fun.
- God, Cameron is so creepy when she tries to flirt with House. I see this as a positive because to me this cements the fact that there. are. no. sparks. between them. House/Cam shippers are not only blind but totally fooling themselves if they see anything there.
- "I think I'm...okay". I really like that moment because to me it suggests that House has realized that he is okay with change, and that maybe he can handle a change in his relationship with Wilson. He really did seem content with the idea.
- I was not disappointed with the guitar being in the box. Why? Referencing my idea above, it's just the start of changes that House could start making in season 4. Also, remember that it was Wilson that mentioned the guitar in the beginning. He made a change because Wilson suggested it. Remember that he bought the bike after Wilson commented on House not living his life. He obviously takes what Wilson says quite seriously. He listens to him. That right there means more to me than any subtexual sexual tension. Really.
