This dude's looking for a list of SF/F reviewers, and yours isn't on there yet . . . http://otter.covblogs.com/archives/2008/12/a-book-reviewers-link-up-meme.html

I'm not willing to spend money on short story anthologies featuring numerous authors. Novellas, however, I might. But shorts are just too money-risky...

Hannah and Brodie's names aren't familiar, so Keri Arthur's contribution must be a complete standalone.

So...you'll have to wait a year for the paperback to come out...

Have a lovely day! :-)

The paperback of what? :) I've already got this sucker (sadly) in hardcover. :)

I am interested in reading more of Arthur's stuff, though. What should I start with?

Well, I'm assuming it'll be released in paperback in a year. When books are released as hardcovers, they tend to be re-released as paperbacks a year later. But obviously they want people to buy the hardcovers, so they haven't officially announced a paperback edition yet.

So, yeah...next time you hear of a hardcover anthology, might want to wait until paperback.

I've only read Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson series to date. Start with Full Moon Rising, and go chronologically from there. They're mass market paperbacks, so hopefully they'll fit your budget. Only there're six books in the series so far. So that's about $US7 times 6 = $42...

Have a lovely day! :-)

You threw me off with the use of "you," but I know what you mean about waiting a year for the trade and/or mmpb. :) Definitely learned my lesson. :)

First off, I wanted to say that I've enjoyed reading your reviews - they are thorough, well thought out and informative so I thank you for posting your thoughts.

I, too, just finished this book, although by finished I mean that I read the stories by authors I already knew (Vaughn, Harris, Briggs and Arthur). I've only read Arthur's Riley Jensen series (Full Moon Rising is the first book) but I can recommend the books. She's created a very interesting universe with equally interesting characters. However, I should warn you that her werewolves are very promiscuous and there's quite a bit of fairly graphic sex in all the books. I don't mind it, but thought I should give fair warning. :)

Thanks for the rec and the warning! I won't mind the sex, especially since I already know she's marketed more on the paranormal romance side. :)

And thanks for commenting on my reviews! It's really nice to know people enjoy them.

It was my impression that the guy she slept with kind put a spell of sorts on her, which would explain why she acted out of character. However, this story pretty much single-handedly soured me for any more Sookie books. I bought book eight when it came out as a mass market and I still can't bring myself to read it.
